Pet Portrait Commissions

I enjoy creating realistic artwork full of detail and personality. My goal is to portray exactly how goofy or straight-faced, sassy or devoted, angelic or full of mischief your pet is.

When you commission a portrait from me, you're getting my commitment to drawing every hair, feather or scale in order to bring your beloved pet to life on paper.

Materials and Style

I love to make art that reflects both a pet's personality and their owner's. When commissioning a portrait, please choose between colored pencils for a more realistic style or charcoal for dramatic contrasts.

How to Commission a Pet Portrait

  1. 1

    Initial Contact

Send me an email at [email protected] including the size, medium (colored pencils or charcoal) and any other requests you may have. Keep in mind that the bigger the artwork, the more details I'll be able to include (but I will work to get the full impact even on a smaller scale).

  2. 2

    Consultation & Planning

We will discuss via email everything about the artwork you're commissioning to make sure the final result will be your pet brought to life on paper. At this point I'll request photo references of your pet. Ideally clear, well-lit and high resolution images are best, but I will do my best to work with what you have available and still deliver good results. We will talk about the composition, whether to include a favorite toy or a background, etc. I will also let you know how much time I will need to conclude the portrait.

  3. 3

    Payment & Confirmation

Once we've agreed on all the details, I'll send you a payment request for 20% of the total price to secure your spot in my queue.

  4. 4

    Creation & Updates

The wait! I understand this part can be tough and I'll do my best to send you updates.

  5. 5

    Delivery

If you're local to me (I live in Bloomington, MN), we can agree on a pick up location. If not, I will mail your artwork to you.
